Albert Jeff Chesteen

Memorial services were held for Albert Jeff Chesteen, 81, a Montgomery County native and a Grenada resident, Monday, March 18, 1985, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Chesteen died Saturday, March 16, in Grenada County Hospital after a lengthy illness.

A retired telegraph operator for Illinois Central Railroad, Chesteen is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tallie Malone Chesteen of Grenada; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Nail of Grenada, Mrs. Katherine Hardy of Cleveland. Miss, and Mrs. Minnie Hazel Bain of Memphis; a son, Charles Neely Chesteen of Fairfax, Va.: five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Stevens and Mrs. Lura Ware, both of Houston, Miss; Mrs. Lois Cummins and Mrs. Beulah Landrum, both of Stewart; and Mrs. Juanita Madden of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services for Chesteen were led by the Rev. Drew D. Blanton of Magee and burial was in the Poplar Creek-Nations Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Malone, Calvin Malone, Pete Malone, Alvin Malone, Billy Cummins and Jimmy Cummins. Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
