RACCOON, Ky. — Allen Coleman, 59, of Raccoon, was dead upon arrival at Pikeville Methodist Hospital at 3:40 p.m. Monday.
Bom June 11, 1926 in Pike County, he was a son of the late Riley B. and Lucy Pearl Coleman Coleman.
He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Coleman; five sons, Irvin, Ronald, Franklin, Wayne and Gary Coleman, all of Raccoon; a daughter, Carol Thompson of Raccoon; two brothers, Alva Coleman and Alvin Coleman, both of Raccoon; four sisters, Sarah Coleman of McArthur, Ohio, Frona Coleman of Raccoon, Sylvia Thacker of Shelbiana and Flossie Coleman of Raccoon; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Primitive Baptist Church of Raccoon with Paul Dean Justice, William Slone, Glenn Coleman and others officiating.
Burial will follow in the Coleman Cemetery at Raccoon. DAV rites will be conducted at the graveside.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Johns Creek Funeral Home of Meta.
