Gloria (Alderfer) Benner, 88, of Harleysville, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2020. She was the wife of the late H. Leon Benner to whom she was married for 51 years.
Born in Franconia Township, PA, she was a daughter of the late Irvin and Ethel (Cassel) Alderfer.
Gloria was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sellersville, PA, where she served in the music and nursery ministries. She was currently attending Bible Baptist Church of Upper Bucks County. She enjoyed playing piano, was an avid reader, and had a long career as a seamstress specializing in bridal party gowns. In her retirement years, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by four children, Darlene Harley and her husband, Kim, of Lehighton, PA, Leon Benner and his wife, Kathy Jo, of Quakertown, PA, Pam Myers and her husband, Mel, of Quakertown, PA, and Kelley Benner of Harleysville, PA; one brother, Stanley Alderfer of Frederick, PA; and two sisters, Joanne Freeman of Lansdale, PA, and Emily Koch of Souderton, PA; nine grandchildren, and twenty one great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Victor Alderfer, Wesley Alderfer, Bernice Hoffman and Gerald Alderfer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Bible Baptist Church of Upper Bucks County, located at Highland Park, Sellersville, PA. A private burial will take place at Limerick Garden of Memories.
