She was the loving mother to Christine and her husband, Todd Detweiler of Perkasie, Suzanne and her husband Steve Kade of Quakertown and Linda and her husband Jacob Bloemberg of Hanoi, Vietnam. She was the grandmother to Jessica (Matt) Meade, Matthew (Heather) Kade, Brittany (Philip) Wubbolt, Rachel (Tim) Burkhardt, Sarah (Ohannes) Ortiz, Joshua (Brooke) Detweiler, Jared (Jayna) Detweiler, Lianna (David) Delgado, Josiah Bloemberg, and Mikayla Bloemberg. She was "Cookie" to 10 great grandchildren, Anna, Lilly and Daniel Meade, Hudson, Cohen and Ellie Burkhardt, Bella Kade, Isaiah Oritz, Baby Girl Detweiler (due November 2023) and Baby Detweiler (due March 2024).
Emily was a member of Deep Run East Mennonite Church. She supported her husband, Terry, as a founding partner of Haines & Kibblehouse, Inc. (H & K Group) and worked in the office for many years before her retirement. Emily and Terry spent many years camping around the country with family and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her monthly lunches with childhood friends.
Emily is also survived by brother, Stanley (Barbara) Alderfer, sister, Joanne Freeman, and sister-in-law, Karen (Bill) Heebner and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Victor Alderfer, Gloria Benner, Wesley Alderfer, Bernice Hoffman, and Gerald Alderfer.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Deep Run East Mennonite Church. A time to greet the family will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the Service. Interment will be private.
