Betty Lucille (George) Kirk, 90, of Sabetha, Kansas went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Betty Lucille (George) Kirk, 90, of Sabetha, Kansas went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, Kansas.

Lucille was born September 14, 1930 in Westmoreland, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Lura Ethel (Whittle) George. She grew up in the Wetmore area with her 10 brothers and sisters. She spent her adult life in Sabetha. Lucille graduated from Wetmore High School where she met her future husband, Donovan Charles Kirk. They were united in marriage on November 29, 1947 in Holton, Kansas.

Lucille worked with her husband in his business from 1953 to 1990 as his bookkeeper. They retired and moved to the country where they loved to entertain friends and family. She was a member of the Sabetha Golf Club and served on the board. She volunteered at the Methodist church. She loved to play golf, play cards, hunt, and fish.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donovan; her three sisters, Hazel (George) Porter, Marjorie (George) McDaniel and Joan George; her three brothers, Ross, Ray, and Vernon George.

She is survived by her son, Raymond; her daughters, Margaret (Bill) Crawford and Mary Kirk; her grandsons, Michael Kaul and Eric Fritton; her granddaughter, Robyn (John) Heimburger and five great-grandchildren; her three sisters, Jean Davis, Ludema Scott, and Madene Fernkopf; and her brother, Dwane George.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Wetmore Cemetery. At Lucille’s request there will be no viewing. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, KS 66534.
