Frederick was only two and a half years old when his mother died. He was raised by his step mother and his father until the death of his father when he was only eleven years old. He left Aylmer, Quebec when he was a very young man and headed west to Alberta where he married Susie hess and started a family. They had twelve children in all and two of them died at very young ages. They eventually left Alberta in 1925 and moved to Montana where Frederick worked as a lumberman and owned and operated a sawmill in Fortine, Montana for many years. After retirement he owned and operated a service station in Rexford, Montana. He was a very special man that was very strong and at the same time was a very gentle soul.
