Florence Phillips Weatherman, 89, of Newland, NC died Friday, July 06, 2007, following a period of declining health. She was born in Avery County on December 5, 1917 and was a daughter of the late Eli "Pappa" Phillips and Sarah "Mama" Maltba Phillips. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Webb Weatherman; son, Roger Weatherman; sister, Dot Cornett; brother, Duard Phillips; grandsons, Timothy and Allen Weatherman; and four infant brothers.
Mrs. Weatherman was a devoted church member of Higher Ground Worship Center in Pineola, and she loved to cook and quilt.
