A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. EH and Sarah Maltba Phillips.
She was a homemaker and member of the Pineola Church of God
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cornett and her brother Duard Phillips of Norwalk California.
Survivors include her sons, Johnny Cornett of Morganton, Larry Cornett and wife Sheri of Crossnore, David Cornett and wife Debbie of Crossnore; daughters, Sarah McClellan and husband David of Morganton, Linda Banner and husband Gailord of Morganton; sisters, Welda Aldridge of Crossnore, Florence Weatherman of Jonas Ridge, Lois Robinson of Linville Falls, Alma Barrier of Hickory, Christine Townsend and husband Bud of Icard; brother, Bill Phillips and wife Doris of Ashford; five grandchildren Sherry Young and husband Robbie; Jason McClellan and wife Beth of Morganton; Wendy Banner of Newland; Sabrina Brooks and husband Bruce of Audryville, NC; Mark Issacs of Newland; five great grandchildren: Erin and Emily Young and Kelsey Dale of Morganton,; Luke McClellan of Temple, Texas; Zane Brooks of Audryville, NC.
Graveside Rites will be Tuesday, October 28 at 10:00 am at the Clark Cemetery in Crossnore, NC.
