Joyce Ann Williams Smith, age 85, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at The Laurels of Summit Ridge in Asheville.
She was born in McDowell County on November 18, 1934 to the late Thomas Roy Williams and Sarah Mae Proctor Williams.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was loved by her whole family. She will be remembered as a kind a generous lady.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Paul Smith, Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Smith; three grandchildren, David (Jaime) and Mark (Jennifer) Smith, and Joey Gee; and four great grandchildren, William Casey Smith, Raymond Seth Smith, Kaitlin Smith, and Anthony Gee; one brother, Mike Williams; a niece and nephew, Charles and Diane Smith; and a great nephew. James (Pam) Smith and family.
A funeral service was held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Burial followed in the Smith Family Cemetery.
