Son of Eli 'David' Dethrow and Dallas Minnie Arnold.
Married Ruby Leona Custer on 1 Feb 1928 at Alton, Oregon County, MO.
He was a Barber.

From Haston's sister, Grace, on days at Piney School, Oregon Co., MO involving Ova Corbin, sister Vida and Haston:

"Fun at Piney School was baseball playing. I loved it and I do not brag, but I was a good player. The boys would choose me over some of the big boys. Once I had an awful fight. Of course it was over Haston. He would pick a fight and then I'd have to step in and finish it. This time it was with Ova Corbin. Haston was not too well, and he could not hold his own with boys his age, only he was tops in his class lessons. Well, he and Ova got in a fight and someone called me at recess and said, "Come quick, Grace! Ova is hitting Haston bad!" I went in and hit Ova with a ball bat, and in comes Posey and Paul (Corbins). Then here comes Ernest Wheeler, and Lee (brother) comes and John Hays to my side. My dress was torn off me. But Ova Corbin never forgot that one on the head because he had a big knot big as a hen egg. His brothers took him to the cistern and poured cold water on him and let him lay in the shade the rest of the day. He teased me after he and Vida married and said that was the reason he was so batty, that baseball bat I gave him on the head."
