Georgia Ann Grimmett was the daughter of John and Leatha Foster French Marlar. She married Solomon Ira Perry on September 25, 1887. To this union was born one daughter, Demaris Lillian Perry (May). Georgia married John W. Grimmett on February 18, 1894. John and Georgia's children were Benjamin, Bobbie, Lora, Johnnie, Mary, Unie, Ruby, William Thomas (born February 1, 1905; burial unknown), Henry, Bessie, Daisy, Earl (born August 16, 1913; burial unknown), and Dallas.

Georgia was affected by Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia, an inherited bleeding disorder. She passed it to a few of her children, and the disease is still in the family today. Georgia's son Benjiman and brother James Henry Marlar died from internal bleeding caused by HHT.

Cause of death: Georgia fell in her home on September 5, 1954, breaking her right hip. Soon afterwards, pneumonia set in and she went into myocardial failure, which caused her death on September 20th.
