Edward E. Draper, a native Troy, died yesterday [26 Jan] at his residence at Rocky Mount, N.C., after a lingering illness. Mr. Draper left Troy about 20 years ago.
For many years, Mr. Draper had operated a twine manufacturing business in Troy. He was a member of the Lansingburg Board of Education and for several years was trustee and treasurer of the Troy Rotary Club.
Mr. Draper was the husband of the late Jessamine Kimball Draper of Troy. He was the son of Congressman William H. Draper.
A graduate of Union University in Schenectady, Mr. Draper was an active alumnus. He was a member of the University’s Chi Psi Fraternity.
Mr. Draper is survived by three sons, Richard E. of Sea Cliff, Long Island, and William L. and Edson V. S. Draper, both of Rocky Mount, N.C., and one sister, Mrs. George [Bessie] M. Ruffin of Washington, D.C.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
