Omstead, Martha J . Martha was born February 28, 1878, in Hamilton township, Harrison county, Mo. Died in Saint Joseph, Mo, Dec 17, 1919, age 41 years 9 months and 19 days. She was married to Benjamin F Lowe, April 13, 1898. To this union were born two children, Edith Estella, now the wife of Frank O'Dell and Archie E Lowe. Her first husband died Dec 30, 1902. She was married to Eugene Omstead, March 11, 1914. To them were born two children Lola and Olive. She was taken seriously ill some three weeks ago and was removed to St Joseph, Mo, where an operation was performed with the hope that it would save her life, but all that human skill could do did no stay the hand of the grim reaper, death. In her last sickness she believed she would never recover and made arrangements concerning her funeral and other matters of importance. She leaves to mourn her husband, two sons and two daughters, six brothers, two grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends. She united with the Latter Day Saints Church several years ago, being baptized by Elder R M Elvin. She was preceded in death by husband, father, mother, and sister. Funeral services was at the Lone Rock church in charge of D T Williams. Laid to rest in the Lone Rock cemetery.
