Jim Holloway, 96, died at Lamoni Manor Oct. 29. His funeral was at Lamoni Funeral Home Nov. 2 with burial at the Payne Cemetery by the Lone Rock church (sic). Jim was the last surviving member of the Jasper and Nancy Jane Holloway family and leaves two sisters-in-law, Lucille Holloway and Vera Holloway.

James Amlick Holloway, son of Madison Jasper and Nancy (Bowen) Holloway, was born October 4, 1891 on a farm in Harrison County, Missouri, near Pawnee. He attended Lone Rock Country School. Later, he attended a school for mechanics in St Joseph, Missouri.

James, better known as Jim, stayed with his parents until they passed away. After his father passed away, he continued to care for his mother. He never married. In 1934 he moved to Harlan, Iowa, along with his brother, Scott, and his family. He stayed with them until 1953 when he moved back to Missouri close to the old home place where he continued farming. He spent some winters with his grandniece, Dixie and husband Vince Graham.

Jim leaves two sister--in-laws, Mrs Lucile Holloway or Irwin, Iowa, and Mrs Vera Holloway of Woodbine, Iowa, many nephews and nieces and other relatives who will miss him.

Interment will be in the Payne Cemetery where his parents and many other relatives are buried.
