Landry, Helen Jewell

A native of Maringouin, Louisiana and according to her, born a loser on January 29, 1925 but died a winner on November 1st, 2013, ALL SAINT'S DAY. Survived by three children, Helen Best Wuestenhaufer, Harvey Taylor Best, III and Judge James Jewell Best, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lubin and Mattie Wylie Barrow Jewell; four siblings, Edwin Jewell, Bonita Jewell Hubbard, Wylie Jewell and Joseph Lubin Jewell, Jr; as well as her beloved son, Donald Lane Landry. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 6th, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Roads from 8 to 10 a.m. followed by a Mass. Special appreciation for their unconditional love and support throughout the years to Sue Guidroz, Carolyn Davis, Eric Crousillac, Ali El-Khansa, cousins Bach, Doris and Sue Jewell; Dr. Frederick Billings, Dr. Donald Doucet, Rev. Jerry Phillips, Jordan D'Arensbourg, a.k.a. Lil' Hitler, and the staff at Pointe Coupee Healthcare; Warren Pourciau and the staff at Pointe Coupee Hospice, and to so many others. In lieu of flowers, please support Hospice of Pointe Coupee and the Pointe Coupee Cancer Association.
