Last rites held December 23 for Leon Blaylock
Funeral services for Leon Clifton Blaylock, Sr., were held December 23 at 10 a.m. at Oliver Funeral Home chapel. Officiating were Revs. F. O. Martin, W. M. Hull, Jr., and R. L. Wilcutt.
Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Oliver in charge.
Mr. Blaylock, who was 61 years old, died December 21 at the Grenada General Hospital, following an extended illness. He was a native of Montgomery County and a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Vera Blaylock, Winona; three children, Mrs. Wayne Rivers and L. C. Blaylock, Jr., both of Winona, and Glyn Blaylock, Miami, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Taylor, Duck Hill, and Mrs. Pauline Taylor, Winona.
Also, four half-brothers, Lamar Blaylock and J. T. Blaylock, both of Duck Hill; Dewitt Blaylock, New Orleans: and Eugene Blaylock, Holcomb. He had 9 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Hamp Griffin, Clinton Yates, Elmo Johnson, Bill Johnson, Johnny Peacock, and Wade Johnson, Jr.
