Sharon Louise (Knapp) Vickers, 76, of New Haven, WV, passed away July 14, 2020 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born October 5, 1943 in New Haven, WV, a daughter of the late Melvin Brady and Helen Ora (Grinstead) Knapp. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Rodney; brothers, Douglas, Brady, Herman, Harry and Richard Knapp; sisters, Marjorie Capehart, Jo Ann Taylor and Mary Fry.

She graduated from Wahama High School in May of 1962. She married Kenneth W. Vickers on November 8, 1962. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gallipolis Ward, Gallipolis, OH, where she served in many positions in the Women’s Relief Society, the children’s Primary and Young Women’s organizations of the Church. She was a member of, and a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 140 New Haven, WV. She was also a past president of the New Haven Elementary P.T.O.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Vickers; son, Kenneth L. Vickers of Highland Ranch, CO, daughter, Ann (John) Macir of Point Pleasant, son, Aaron (Missy) Vickers of Pomeroy, daughter Shari (Jason) Fields of New Haven; grandchildren, Jack and Brandon Butler, Kade Vickers, Anthony and Jonathan Machir, Brendan and Emi Jo Vickers, Zachary, Nathan and Griffin Fields; sisters, Patricia Paugh and Peggy Harless; five nieces and 8 nephews. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Kenneth Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Baptist Church Cemetery, New Haven, WV. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
