The above birth date/place are from Nannie's death certificate, which also states that she was buried in Shoaf's Chapel Cemetery. She was the daughter of Charles Wyatt Tyree and Annie Belle Hastings, was the 5th-oldest of their 12 children, and was listed as Nannie (or Nannie B.) in the censuses.

She was only 26 years old, Single, and had been working as a Twister at the rayon plant for 5+ years when carcinoma of the cervix took her young life. She left behind both parents, 11 siblings, son Hubert Ralph Tyree, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

[NOTE: Hubert was born in 1925, and his application for a Social Security Number lists his father as "Ralph Vass", but there's no online record that Nannie ever married. There's also no male Vass with the first name Ralph in censuses and vital records for Virginia and adjacent states, but some have Ralph as their middle name.]
