Mary Magdeline Prather born 18 January 1851, Cedar Bluff Virginia. She joined the M.E. Church youth in early life. She loved to read the Bible and lived a Christian Life. She was united in Marriage to Eli F(ranklin) Prather 25 January 1873, Cedar Bluff Virginia. To this union nine children were born, Thomas R.; Hugh B.; Goerge C.; Walter S.; Frank H.; Margaret A.; Sarah E.; Nellie R,; all of whom survive thier mother with one exception, Carl E. who died April 29, 1907. Besides these, she leaves to morn yer lostt, one sister and 3 brothers. (Compliments of Elizabeth Handy, Wichita KS 1976)
