Florence Helen (Friday) Frohrib passed away unexpectedly at her home in the town of Black Wolf on March 25, 1999.

She was born in Oshkosh on April 29, 1923 to Fred and Hattie Klein Friday. She married Vernon Frohrib of Oshkosh on November 9, 1944 in Great Falls, Montana.

Florence attended Washington School and graduated from Oshkosh High School in January 1941 as Valedictorian.

From 1945 to 1965 she was employed by Winnebago County in the Highway Department and Treasurer's office. She became the treasurer of the Winnebago County Employees Credit Union in 1965 and later President and CEO until her retirement in 1988.

Florence loved bowling, playing cards with family and friends, cheering on the Packers, tackling a tough crossword puzzle and was an avid reader. She was a lifelong weekly patron of the Oshkosh Public Library. Her passion for reading was the joy of her retirement years, which she especially enjoyed sharing with her cherished grandchildren.

Florence is survived by her husband, Vernon, her son Patrick and his wife, Patricia, granddaughter Kathryn and grandson, Michael, one sister, Phyllis Anderson and sister-in-law Ruth Friday, all of Oshkosh, many nieces and nephews, special neighbors, Karen and Jim Hruska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Lester and Raymond, her sister, Dorothy, and her dear mother-in-law, Caroline Frohrib.

Visitation is on Sunday, March 28, 1999 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside from 4-6 p.m. followed by a funeral service officiated by Rev. John Becker. The family requests a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Oshkosh Public Library.
