Lester H. Friday, 59, of 608 Jackson died unexpectedly Sunday at 1 a.m. at his home.

He was born in Oshkosh on April 14, 1914, son of Fred and Hattie Friday, and was married here to Miss Ruth Gonyo on Sept. 30, 1939.

Mr. Friday had been employed as bookkeeper for 36 years at Oshkosh News Co. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Weimer and Mrs. Mary Danner, Oshkosh; one son, Capt. William P. Friday, Ft. Rucker, Ala. three sisters, Mrs.
Richard Anderson, Mrs. Vernon Frohrib, Oshkosh, and Miss Dorothy Friday, Menasha, and four grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Marquardt Ar-Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Colle, pastor of St. Peter Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Prayer service Tuesday will be at 7 p.m. A memorial has been established.
