Susan Estrick / Eastright was born in Allegheny Township, Huntingdon County (became Blair County in 1846), Pennsylvania about 1835 to A-3, John Seigle and Mary Sarah Faushey Estrick / Eastright. Sue, as her family and friends called her, was 15 years old when she was living with the William B. Burkhart family (1850 PA Census). William is the uncle of Mary Jane Burkhart, who married Sue's brother, Samuel Estrick / Eastright (A-8). It is possible that Sue's mother, Mary Sarah Faushey, died of childbirth from her younger sister, Anna Catherine (A-14). Sue married George W. Settlemyer around 1865. He was born in Summer Hill, Cambria County, Pennsylvania on February 13, 1823 to Jacob and Mary Helsel Settlemyer. George served in the Civil War as a private in Company C, 105th Pennsylvania Infantry. For the first several years they were living in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania, which is where all their children were born. Sue and George were living in Red Bank, Clarion County, Pennsylvania when George died on May 15, 1879, from injuries he received to his spine, while in the war. He is buried at Collinsville Cemetery in Altoona. After George's death, Sue moved back to Altoona to live with her daughter Anna Settlemyer Breeden. Sue had gone to Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to visit her other daughter, Sallie, when she passed away on November 19, 1920. The body was shipped back to Altoona where she was placed to rest at Fairview Cemetery, Section F, Grave 127 on November 30, 1920 in an unmarked grave. George had six children from a previous marriage with Isabelle Armagost; Mary Louise, John Harison, Clara, James, Abraham Jeri, and Adam Henry. Sue and George had three children.
