DEATH OF MOSES HAHN
An Old and Honored Citizen of the County Departs This Life.
Moses Hahn was born September 18, 1829 in Montgomery County, Indiana, near Crawfordsville. He moved with his parents to Knox County, Illinois when six years of age. He was married in Knox County, Illinois June 12, 1851 to Mary Loveridge, who survives. He was the father of 12 children, all living but two. Stephen died in infancy. Martha died when Fifteen years of age (when sickness took her). The living

Hahn of Valentine, Nebraska, Mrs. Abigail Crabb of Olympia, Washington, Mrs. Hannah Melton, of Valentine, Nebraska, Mrs. Lucetta Carmichael of Maryville, Missouri, M. A. Hahn of near Maryville; Mrs. Henry L. Foster of Maryville, and Gertrude, who resides at home.
In 1872 he moved from Illinois to the state of Oregon. Where he remained for a year and a half, and then returned to Illinois and bought back the same farm from which he had moved. Family lore says they did not like it there and returned in August of 1872 to Knox County. In the spring of 1880, he moved to Nodaway county, near Orrsburg. In the spring of 1885 he sold there and bought a farm near Pickering. He sold that farm in 1892, and moved to near Maryville, from there in 1897 he moved to near Ravenwood, and in the fall of 1898, he and wife and daughter, Gertrude, moved to Maryville. He had been in poor health for two years, and bedfast for six months. He had kidney trouble and other complications.
