Funeral services for James Basco were held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pineville La., the Reverend Dale Meade. Interment followed at Bay Springs Cemetery in Chopin, Louisiana.

James Basco, 91, of Pineville, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at his residence.

Jay was a native of Chopin, Louisiana. He was a retired welder with Pipefitters & Steamfitter Local Union #247, where he worked for many years for Campo Pipeline, worked offshore for Odeco, and various other companies across the country. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Pineville. In his spare time, Jay enjoyed beekeeping, working in the yard and building things with his talent. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Mary Basco; son, Jason Eric Basco; brothers, Walter Basco, Frank Basco and Albert Basco; sisters, Janie Basco Setliff, Ethel Basco Roman, Agnes Basco Henson, Jessiev Basco Fontenot, Vera Basco Nezat, Yvonne Basco Mobley and Patricia Basco.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 61 years of Pineville; brother and sister-in-law of Bunkie; two sisters; one grandson of Abbeville; three great grandchildren; and granddaughter-in-law, Tristen Moses.

Services were under the direction of Rush Funeral Home in Pineville.
