Obituary
Lola Gurr Peterson age 90 of Vernal died on Tuesday May, 19th 2020, at The Vernal BeeHive Home of natural causes. She was born September 28, 1929, in Vernal UT. to George Albert Gurr and Alice Victoria White-Gurr.

Lola married Richard Riley Peterson on April 26, 1950. Their marriage was later solemnized in Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 25th 1987. Richard died June 24th 1984.

Lola was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many callings. She enjoyed working and attending the Temple. Lola enjoyed deer hunting, spending time on their property on Blue Mountain with her family, playing ball and throwing horse shoes. She loved racing horses with Richard, riding in the Dinah Spurrs riding club. She loved working out in her yard and garden. Going to the Temple with her lady classmates once a month and another day once a month they would go out to lunch. Lola had worked many jobs, teacher aide at Jensen School, Montgomery Ward, JC Penny's, Utahn Saddle Co. and K-Mart.

Lola is survived by her children Karen (Larry) Gross of Jensen Chad (Janna) Peterson of Vernal. Her grandchildren are Jannetta (Brett) Stubbs. Jason (Melissa) Gross, Stephanie (Shad) Smith and Brandon Gross. Scott Peterson, Bryce (Roylene) Peterson, Corey (Veronica) Peterson, Tiffany (Joey) Sheffer, Zack (Felicia) Rants, Tyler (Alison) Peterson and Beau Peterson. Lots of great and great-great grandkids.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Richard, infant son, and grandson Justin R. Peterson. Brothers and Sisters Lawerance Gurr, Earl Gurr, Thelma Scott, Myrtle Murray, Ella Allen, Burnice Jackson, Madge Jackson, Freda Abplanalp and Vera Gurr.

Funeral Services will be held on May 21, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be broadcasted on the funeral home website. Burial will be in the Jensen Cemetery.
