Lillian Wirey, 93, died Tuesday, Aug.11, 1998, at Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center in Columbus. She was a resident of Edinburgh.

She was born Feb. 7, 1905, in Brown County. Her parents were William and Emma (Wray) Wirey. Survivors include two sisters, Hazel Alexander of Hope and Violet Hinkle of Greensburg.

She was a 1924 graduate of Edinburgh High School. She worked in the payroll department at Amos Thompson Corp. in Edinburgh, retiring in 1970.

She was a member of Edinburgh First Christian Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 439 of Franklin.

The Rev. Steve Gambrel will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

EDINBURGH -- Lillian Wirey, 93, of Edinburgh died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A 1924 graduate of Edinburgh High School, Miss Wirey retired in 1970 from Amos Thompson Corp., where she worked in the payroll department.

She was a member of Edinburgh First Christian Church and Franklin Order of the Eastern Star.

Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Rest Haven Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve Gambrel officiating. There will be no calling.

Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home.

Miss Wirey was born in Brown County Feb. 7, 1905, the daughter of William and Emma Wray Wirey.

She is survived by sisters, Hazel Alexander of Hope and Violet Hinkle of Greensburg.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
