Edith W. Rule, 85, a resident of Columbus Convalescent Center at 2100 Midway, died there at 1:30 a.m. today. She had been ill for one year and in serious condition three weeks.

She was a retired employee of Reliance Shirt Factory.

Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Joseph McNally at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reed and Jewell Funeral Home, where persons may call from 7 until 9 o'clock tonight.

Mrs. Rule was born in Brown County May 15, 1897, the daughter of William and Emma D. Wray Wirey.

She is survived by two daughters, Beulah Denk of 4665 Autumn Leaves, and Jean Denk of Edinburgh; a son, Dale Stitsworth of Lake Placid, Fla.; a brother, Floyd Wirey of Edinburgh; three sisters, Lillian Wirey of Edinburgh, Violet Hinkle of Greensburg, and Hazel Alexander of Greenwood, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service for Edith W. Rule, 85, of 2100 Midway, was conducted Wednesday at Reed and Jewell Funeral Home by the Rev. Joseph McNally. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery at Edinburgh.

Pallbearers were James Jeffries, Dave Dugan, William, James and David Denk and David Akers.

Mrs. Rule died Tuesday at Columbus Convalescent Center.
