"Shirley Jean Gillum, 73, of Rockfield Kentucky, passed away January 08, 2020 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green Kentucky. Shirley was born March 20, 1946 in Warren County, Ky to the late John Luke Martin and the late Leora Bell (Givens) Martin. She attended South Side Baptist Church in Bowling Green, worked with the Auburn Hosiery Mill as an inspector, and worked at the Minit Marts in Bowling Green, Auburn and Russellville. Shirley was preceded in death by a grandson Coyle Willhite, her brothers, Bill, James, Sammy, Norman, Ellis and John Wesley Martin.

Her sisters, Willie Mae Lockhart, Virginia Carroll, Wilma Carter, Pauline Gregory and Edra Dean Dodson.

Shirley is Survived by
Husband: Walter Joe Gillum of Rockfield, Ky
Son: James Thompson of Auburn, Ky
Daughter: Lauri Mantlo (Ray) of Russellville, Ky
Sister: Sue Alexander of Auburn, Ky
Grandchildren: Jamie Thomason, John Tyler Willhite and Blake Thomason.

Funeral Services for Shirley Gillum will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday January 13, 2020 in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Bro. Kenny Chyle officiation. Burial will follow in the Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday January 12, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel and Monday from 8:00 A.M. until the Funeral Hour at 2:00 P.M."
