Mattie Velma "Tince" Beavers Barnes Glover, 97, of Dora, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020 at sunrise. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Just as her family could begin to see the sun here on Earth, Tince was seeing the Son in Heaven.

She was member of Sumiton First Assembly of God. She loved her family, friends, and her church. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. She left a legacy that will echo throughout time.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arvil Lee Barnes; her second husband, Dalton Glover; children, James Barnes (Jimmie Grace), Richard Barnes, Kenneth Barnes, Rayburn Barnes, Lois Barnes Smith; parents, Will and Myrtle Beavers; siblings, Evelyn "Toots" Black Livley, Paul Beavers, Addie Plyler, and Juanita Matthews; and several other family members.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Smith (Charles), Harvey Barnes (Lou), Myra Wilkinson (Charles); daughters-in-law, Ann Barnes and Donna Barnes; siblings, Hazel Parker, Betty Jett, Jerald Dean Drummond Self; numerous grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

During her lifetime, Tince had a total of 201 grandchildren, which includes blood and step-grandchildren. The total is all preceded and surviving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at Sumiton First Assembly of God at 2 p.m., with a visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Sellers Cemetery.
Officiating will be Rev Jack Thorn, Kenneth Wilkinson. Singing will be Kari Adams and Buddy Wilkinson.
