BEAVERS, MR. JAMES P., age 87, of Dora, died Saturday, August 6, 2005 at a local hospital. Mr. Beavers was retired from U.S. Steel after 38 years of service. He was an active member of his community working to improve its quality of life. He was a very good provider, husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtle Sellers Beavers; brother, William Beavers; sister, Evelyn Black; and great grandson, Joshua Nabors. Mr. Beavers Is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elzie Beavers; children, Jerry Beavers (Luverne) of Haleyville, Gail Bailey of Dora, Ralph Beavers (Judy) of Empire, Larry Beavers (Norma) of Dora, and Gary Beavers (Ann) of Jemison; six sisters; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at The Church of God - Canaan, with burial in Sellers Cemetery. Rev. Doug Tate and Rev. Jack Thorn will officiate. Visitation will be 6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home and Mr. Beavers will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton will direct.
