Mrs. A. J. Martin died Monday night at the old Martin homestead near Bogue Chitto. The burial will take place at the family cemetery this afternoon. Mrs. Martin was more than eighty years of age and lived a life that reflects the radiance of a mission well performed. Mrs. HOward Harrington and Mr. and Mrs. Coke and Miss Vivian Coke, of Brookhaven, have left to attend the funeral.

Mrs. Sarah Ann Martin.
Mrs. Sarah Ann Martin, who died at the family homestead in this county, April 18, 1921, was born April 19, 1837.
In 1856 she was married to A. J. Martin who was a soldier in the Civil War and the esteemed Capatain of his company. Capt. Martin was one of Lincoln county's most useful citizens and for a long term of years was treasurer of Lincoln County Association. He was a man of great probity of character and enjoyed the confidence and esteem of his fellows. Capt. Martin died about fifteen years ago, leaving a large family to the loving care of his widow. There were thirteen children, eight of whom survive, seven sons and one daughter. Among the children were two pairs of twins. The children mourn the death all occupy fields of usfulness and honor the memory of their beloved parents.
At the age of fourteen Mrs. Martin united with the Mt. Moriah church and both she and her husband were charter members of the Bogue Chitto Church.
Funeral services were held at the family burying ground Wednesday afternoon, the pastor of the deceased, Rev. I H. Anding officiating.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
