Funeral Services For George Fleming Are Held on Tuesday

Solon -- George I. Fleming died in a Cedar Rapids hospital Sunday morning following a long illness.

A resident of Solon for many years, he was born April 14, 1881 at Aledo, Illinois. From here he went to Cedar Rapids where he has resided for the last 18 years.

Survivors are a son, Ronald, instructor in band music in the Solon high school, who resides in Cedar Rapids; three brothers, John of Grand Junction, Colo., Harry, Mason, City, and Joe of Glendale, California; six sisters, Mrs. Joseph E. Gould of Staples, Minn.; Mrs. William Bender, Iowa City, Mrs. Charles Zimmerman, Aredale, Mrs. Allen Bliss, Mrs. Belle Weston and Miss Minnie Fleming, all of Cedar Rapids. His wife, who preceded him in death many years ago, was formerly Lois Shircliff of Solon.

Services were conducted at the Turner chapel, Cedar Rapids, Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Milton White, pastor of Bethany Congregational church. Burial was in Oakland cemetery, west of Solon.
