Emily Kratochvil passed away on June 15, 2018. She was born in Clarkson, Nebraska on February 16, 1921 to her loving parents, Joe and Emma Karel. She was the oldest of eight children. She married her first love and childhood sweetheart, Clyde Kratochvil, on October 22, 1940. In the 1950's they moved from their Nebraska farm to Colorado where Clyde built their family home from the ground up. They started the Colorado Egg Ranch which became their livelihood for many years. One of the things her family will remember most about Emily is her love of cooking and baking which she did daily. Her most cherished times were when she was surrounded by family, friends and food. After Clyde's passing in 2013, Emily resided at Nightingale Lane, under the loving care of the staff, until her passing at the age of 97. Emily is survived by her four children; Sharon (Willard) Went, Sandra (Joe) Doerr, Judy (Dennis) Miller, and Tony (Kim) Kratochvil; 12 grandchildren, Tammi (Merlin) Groteluschen, Tricia (Richard) Mullenhoff, Todd (June) Went, Trudi (Dustin) Lappe, Chris (Elizabeth) Doerr, Heidi Holderman, Kelly Rogney, Willy (Jaime) Doerr, Lori (Stacy) Geist, Brad Miller, Dustin Kratochvil, and Jeremy Kratochvil; 21 great- grandchildren, 19 great-great- grandchildren; and sisters in law, Mary Ann Karel, Delores Karel, and Alice Karel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Emma Karel; her loving husband, Clyde Kratochvil; her brothers, Frank Karel, Joe Karel, Milo Karel, Jerry Karel and Stanley Karel; sisters, Libbie Hockameier and Adeline Sedlacek; and great-grandson, Taylor Went. A memorial celebration will be held on October 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at Olinger Crown Hill Pavilion of Reflection. We invite all family and friends to join us for lunch at Oakhurst Park, 9311 Lark Bunting Drive, in Westminster after the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Emily's name. Thank you.
