Raymond was the son of Clark Eugene Wheaton and Ada Eleanor Coleman-Wheaton. He was born on the family farm on Dewey Road.

Raymond would not live to adulthood. He had health problems that were along the lines of Failure to Thrive. His death certificate indicates he had intestinal and liver problems.

He is buried with both of his parents.
