Funeral services for Joyce Hamff, 77, of Dime Box, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. John Waak officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.. A celebration of life reception will be held at the Silos on 77 following the services at the cemetery.

Joyce Lee (Haggard) Hamff was born on September 25, 1942 to Virgil and Mildred (Morrison) Haggard in Forest Grove, Texas. She was baptized at Forest Grove Church and confirmed at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings. Joyce graduated from Lexington High School. She served as the Lee County Clerk for many years. On May 28, 1966 she married Clarence "Ducker" Hamff at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings. They had two daughters, Lisa and Lori.

After leaving the county she owned and operated the Montgomery Ward catalog store in Giddings for the next five years. After Montgomery Ward closed its doors she went to work for Droemer Industries. She spent many years working in her flower beds and received the award of "Yard of the Month" several times. Reading, traveling, sewing and needlepoint were also her other favorite things to do.

Joyce passed away the morning of Friday, October 25, 2019 in Giddings.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Haggard and Mildred Haggard; her husband, Clarence; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Martha Hamff; two sisters, Joann Griffith and Maxine Haggard; and one brother, V T Haggard and his wife, Shirley.

Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Lisa and Rusty Sillavan of Dime Box and Lori and Joe Diez of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Zach Gilmore of Cypress, Jakob Diez of Conroe, Olivia Diez of Lincoln and Jennifer and Lance Riley of Houston; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Gilmore of Cypress and Hadley Diez of Lincoln; two sisters, Beverly and James Wilson of Giddings and Tommye Nell Dismuke of Lexington; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darrel Griffith, Terry Griffith, Russell Dismuke, Jason Dismuke, Jimmy Wilson and Michael Griffith. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Diez, Russell Sillavan, George Witte, Bill Witte, James Wilson, Curtis Christiansen, Rocky Spacek, Steve Perry, Philip Christiansen, Kervin Hoffman, Wayne Kieschnick, Doug Alexander and Trent Williams.

Memorials may be made to Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Children's Miracle Network, Traditions Hospice or the charity of one's choice.
