Clarence passed away the morning of Monday, November 13, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

Clarence Daniel "Ducker" Hamff, 74, of Dime Box, was born on August 21, 1943 in Brenham, Texas to Louis and Martha (Witte) Hamff. He was baptized on September 26, 1943 and confirmed on March 25, 1956.

Clarence started his college career attending Texas A&M and served in Corps of Cadets. Clarence married Joyce Haggard on May 28, 1966 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings, and they were blessed with two daughters.

After getting married, he graduated with his Bachelors of Science Degree from Sam Houston State University. He got his start in construction with Droemer Construction and started Clarence Hamff Construction in 1986. He was in the construction business a total of 58 years.

Clarence's faith life was very important to him and he served the church by being and usher and by serving as a board member. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling in leagues, playing dominoes, watching baseball, participating in barbecue cook offs, and spending time with family and friends.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Martha Hamff.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Joyce Hamff of Dime Box; daughters, Lisa Sillavan and husband Rusty of Dime Box, and Lori Diez and husband Joe of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Zach Gilmore of Cypress, Jakob Diez of Katy, and Olivia Diez of Lincoln; great granddaughter, Hadley Diez of Lincoln, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings with Ryan Grube officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation.
