The Rev. W. M. Shuler died at his home in Marion at 12:45 a.m. Thursday morning, May 5, 1932 at the age of 86 years. He was a local preacher in the M. E. Church, South, and a widely known figure in this section.
The Rev. Mr. Shuler is survived by his widow, the former Ellen Vaught of Spring Valley, and the following children: The Rev. James A. Shuler, a retired minister of the M. E. Church, of Larand, Texas; Mrs. Bettie Jones of Tazewell; Mrs. W. A. Phillippi of Paloma, Ill.; Mr. John W. Shuler of Groseclose.
Funeral services will be conducted at Comer's Rock Methodist church Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. L. M. Burris of Marion assisted by the Rev. W. T. Moore, pastor of the church. Early Saturday morning a short service will be conducted at the home in Marion by the Rev. Burris and the Rev. E. A. Shugart.
Burial will be at Comer's Rock graveyard.
