Venita “Kay” Ivy, 81, of Galion passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Signature HealthCare of Galion.

Born February 11, 1938 in Crestline, she was the daughter of Martin and Martha (Cochran) Duffner. She married Raymond K. Ivy on March 1, 1956 and he preceded her on July 12, 2013.

She was a member of Bucyrus Church of God and worked at the former North Electric Company for 24 years. Kay loved to collect angels, roosters and light houses. She was a “Gold Star Mother” whose family was very important to her. Kay loved people and enjoyed giving out hugs to all.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Debbie Ivy of Galion and Keith and Becki Ivy of Galion; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Doug Shifley of Galion; two daughters-in-law, Lee Ann Ivy of Ontario and Michele Ivy of Galion; 18 grandchildren, Jody Montgomery, Frank Ivy, Domenica Cox, Aleta Rowe, Joshua Shifley, Jacob Ivy, Abram Ivy, Samuel Ivy, Hannah Hall, Heidi Ivy, Hope Ivy, Nathaniel Ivy, Caleb Ivy, Harrison Ivy, Reagan Ivy, Gabe Ivy, Kale Early and Grace Early; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings Vernon “Larry” (Carol) Duffner of Galion, Duane Duffner of Galion, Kevin (Mary Jane) Duffner of Mansfield, Zoa Duffner of Crestline, Maureen Caldwell of Nevada, Ohio and Darlene (Jim) Guinther of Bucyrus.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sons, Kendall Ivy I, Kendall Ivy II and Kevin Ivy and siblings Faith Miller, Crystal Ditmars, Sandy Woods and Lanny Duffner.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2019 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019 with Pastor Jason Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
