Raymond K. Ivy, 84, of Galion, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, July 12, 2013 at Galion Community Hospital after a two day illness.

Born Mar. 26, 1929 in Dexter, Mo., he was the son of the late Noah Frank and Sarah (Terry) Ivy. He married Venita Kay (Duffner) Ivy on Mar. 1, 1956 and she survives.

He was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was an avid pilot and loved to fly. Ray also loved to restore antique tractors and belonged to the Crawford County Antique Tractor Association and was a member of VFW Post 4329. He retired from GCS Air Service in Galion in 1991 after many years as chief mechanic. He was a very loving and excellent family man.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Debbie Ivy of Bucyrus and Keith and Becki Ivy of Galion; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Doug Shifley of Galion; two daughters-in-law, Lee Ann Ivy (Chad Early) of Ontario and Michele Ivy of Galion; 18 grandchildren, Jody Montgomery, Frank Ivy, Domenica Morgan, Aleta Rowe, Joshua Shifley, Jacob Ivy, Abram Ivy, Samuel Ivy, Hannah Ivy, Heidi Ivy, Hope Ivy, Nathaniel Ivy, Caleb Ivy, Harrison Ivy, Reagan Ivy, Gabe Ivy, Kale Early and Grace Early; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Alveta and Alfred Castle of Galion and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Darrelann Ivy of Columbus and Darrell and Beverly Ivy of Delaware.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Kendall Ivy I, Kendall Ivy II and Kevin Ivy; one sister and three brothers.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at CrossWay Assembly of God, 200 Gelsanliter Road, Galion, Ohio 44833 with Pastor Dan Toney officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Full military graveside honors will be conducted by the United States Navy and the Galion/Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
