Uncle Persh joined the Army July 6, 1944 and served during WWII.

He held membership in: V.F.W. Sumner Victory Post, Local 153 and the National Blowers and Sheet Metal from which he retired in 1980.

The fifth child of 16 children, Persh managed to become an outstanding husband, father and uncle in spite of a difficult childhood full of economic hardships.

He and his wife Claudia M Gibson were together until her death in November 1981. They had two children, Claude and Lynn.

The only photograph I have of Uncle Persh was taken in Tonasket, Washington 7-30-1966. His older brother (and my dad) Paul is on the left and Persh is on the right with Sandy the dog.

Sources: WA Birth Index; WA Death Index; WWII Enlistment Records; various censuses.
