The 3rd of 16 children, Uncle Scoop grew up in Spokane and Malden, Washington. In 1935 he was in the US Navy and served in the Pacific. According to the 1940 US Census he had moved to Vallejo, California and was working at the Naval Shipyard (Mare Island) as a Rivet Heater. He and his brother Persh were roommates.
He loved playing the banjo and singing. One favorite I remember was "If You've Got the Money Honey, I've Got the Time." A great uncle who is missed.
He married 3 times.
1. Wanda R. Bell. They had one child together, Victor.
2. Nadine.
3. Audrey L. Boyes Spivey. Married 23 Dec 1982 per California Marriage Index.
He lived in the Vallejo area until his death. During his later years he became a member of the Lighthouse Church of God in Vallejo and was a volunteer for Alcoholics Anonymous.
