Henry was my great grandfather. He was born in 1898 on Mill Creek in Russell County Virginia. His parents H.L. "Lewis" Proffitt and Angeline Stillwell Proffitt. Henry married Birdie Murphy in 1922 they had one son Chester Hasell Proffitt before they divorced in 1926. Henry married my great grandmother Ocie Belle Marie Davis in 1927 in Caretta West Virginia. They had ten children. Henry work at Premier Coal Company in Premier Virginia for over 30 years running the motor. Grandpa Henry loved to fish at the dixie hole in raven or going to the holston lake or the new river. He had a big laugh and would get his granddaugters to stratch his head for danduff then give give them a quarter. Henry died of heart attack while in an amblance in Raven Virginia on the way to the hospital in Richlands Virginia.
