Andrew Carlos McCombs, of Grover, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 24, from an illness of long standing. Mr McCombs has been in poor health for several years and his death was caused from ailments incidental to his advance age.
He was born March 27, 1857, at Bountiful, Utah, and was just a little more than 88 years of age. He was on of the Valley's earliest pioneers, having come here and settled on his ranch below Grover in 1886. Only a few settlers were in the valley when he came.
Funeral services will be held in the Grover Ward at 2:00 p.m. Friday, and Mr McCombs will be buried in the Afton Cemetery.
The Independent will publish a brief sketch of his life next week.
