He was retired from Anderson County Precinct 1 and a member of First United Methodist Church in Elkhart. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and took pleasure in watching his grandchildren and other kids play sports for Elkhart ISD. Mr. Bridges and his wife, Billie, were avid Elkhart High School football fans. They watched over 700 varsity football games together during his lifetime.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Virginia Brown and Vernita Bridges; brothers, Jim Bridges, Lewis Bridges, and Lee Bridges and a grandson, Cory Blackmon.
Mr. Bridges is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 71 years, Billie Gammage Bridges; daughter, Pam Blackmon (Pat); sons, Ronny Bridges (Karen), Larry Bridges (Belinda), Eddie Bridges (Nita); grandchildren, Monica Davis, Tracy Wilson, Matt Bridges, Penny Estes, Mandy Walker, Ryan Blackmon, Jordan Blackmon and Lance Bridges; 16 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and one on the way.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are grandsons.
