Mr. Bridges died Sunday morning at his residence.
He was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Elkhart, to Pete and Dora Kyle Bridges.
Mrs. Bridges was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkhart, a rancher and farmer. He was a former city councilman of Elkhart and served on the Garden of Memories Cemetery Board.
Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his first wife, Edwina Bridges; son, Jackie Lewis Bridges; and a sister, Vernita Bridges.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Bridges of Elkhart; son, Wilbur Bridges of Shepherd; stepsons, Bobby Whitley of Elkhart and Kenneth Whitley of DeLeon; sister, Virginia Brown of Palestine, Brothers, Jim Bridges and Charles Bridges, both of Elkhart, and Lewis Bridges of Grapeland; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Bridges, Bobby Bridges, Ricky Bridges, Bobby Wright, David Whitley, John Whitley and William Whitley.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Elkhart.
