Anna was the fifth child born on the home farm to Michael and Ingeborg (Daehlin) Johnson. She and many of her siblings adopted an "M" as a middle initial but did not actually have a middle name. She was baptized and confirmed at the nearby family church, East Wiota Lutheran and married 11 Feb 1915, perhaps at this church, but certainly in Lafayette County, to Henry E. Johnson. Although they lived for a period of time in Illinois, for most of their married life, they were in South Dakota, where their two children, Edel and Dean, were born.
