Mrs. Leonard Aylward - DENISON, Iowa

Mrs. Leonard Aylward, 63, Denison, died Sunday in a Denison hospital of an apparent heart attack. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church, Vail. The Rev. Gerald Zeman will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today in the Huebner Funeral Home at Moville. Mrs. Aylward, the former Jesse Bell, was born June 23, 1916 at Stlckney, Mo. She moved to Vail when a child with her parents and attended Vail High School, graduating in 1933. She attended Buena Vista College at Storm Lake, receiving a teacher's degree. She was married Dec. 7, 1935. She taught in Vail schools for many years. She later worked in the Crawford County Hospital in Denison. For the last 11 years, she was an Instructor for the West Central Sheltered Workshop in Denison. Mr. Aylward died in 1973. Survivors include her mother, Emma Bell of Denison; one son, Paul of Huron, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Kenny (Joyce) Koch and Mrs. Ted (Jeanne) Hawley both of Vail; one sister, Mrs. Dewey (Wilma) Jones of Omaha; three brothers, Dave of Omaha, Bill of Vail and Tom of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
