Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the United Presbyterian Church in Vail. The Rev. Steve Bomely will officiate. Burial will be in the Vail Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with Masonic services at 8 p.m. by Diamond Lodge 422 AF&AM in Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison.
Mr. Bell was born Dec. 6, 1925, on a farm north of Vail in Crawford County. He attended rural school and graduated from Vail High School in 1944. He married Lois North Jan. 7, 1945, in Omaha. The couple farmed in the Vail area.
Mr. Bell was a member of United Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and served as chairman of the building committe and Past Master of Diamond Lodge 422 AF&AM of Vail; member of Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of Sioux City and Olive Branch 205 Order of Eastern Star of Vail; served on the board of FHA; served as president of the Vail and Westside Presbyterian Churches; member of the Credit Union; past member of ArWeVa School Board; past chairman for ASCS committee, and was active in the Vail Community Club.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Howard of Beatrice, Neb; Rodney of Vail, and Jay of Council Bluffs; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Linda) Massman of Council Bluffs; two brothers, Thomas of Albuquerque, N.M., and David of Omaha; one sister, Mrs. Dewey (Wilma) Jones of Omaha and 12 grandchildren.
