THOMAS PHILIP GREGG

Thomas Philip Gregg was the son of Benjamin and Grace Medley Gregg, born December 21, 1909 at Lockman, Iowa and passed away May 3, 1967 at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital on May 3, 1967, following an accident while at work.

On March 5, 1930 he was united in marriage to Mildred Johnson of Canton, Mo. To this union four children were born: two sons, Oscar and Joe, one daughter, Betty and another infant son who died at birth.

He resided in the Mt. Sterling area for the past 25 years. He farmed until 1952 and since then has worked at the Giffin Saw Mill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two sons, Oscar of Muscatine and Joe of Fort Madison and the daughter (Betty) Mrs. Dale Roberts of Mt. Sterling, a brother, Ray of Santa Barbara, Calif.; three sisters, Clara Harker of Warsaw, Ill.; Veda Devall of Busey, Iowa and Lizzie Sitter of Glendive, Montana; one half-brother, Jodie Atkins of Knoxville, Iowa; two half-sisters; Blanche Smith of Alexandria, Mo. and Mary Smith of Albia, Iowa, other relatives and many friends.

Services were held Saturday, May 6 at the Mt. Sterling Methodist Church with the Rev. Herbert Philips in charge.

Interment was in Harness Cemetery near Mt. Sterling with Catcott Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
