OBITUARY-BONIFIELD
Lester Marine Bonifield, 40 of Denver, Colorado, and a former resident of Elmer, passed away Saturday, June 25, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Ft. Madison, Iowa, after over a year's illness.
Mr. Bonifield was born July 19, 1908 in Elmer, and was married to Catherine Fairline on Sept. 15, 1943 at the Union Presbyterian Church in Ft. Madison, Iowa. He was formerly employed as a fireman with the Santa Fe Railroad.
The deceased is survived by his widow; his mother, Mrs. Charles Bonifield of Elmer; a daughter by a former marriage, Mrs. John March of Osage, Wyoming; one brother, Charles of La Plata; three sisters, Mrs. Herman Spencer and Miss Clara Bonifield, both of Elmer, and Mrs. E.M. Riley of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 28, at Clements Chapel in Ft. Madison, Iowa. Burial was in the Elmer Cemetery on Wednesday, June 29, with graveside services.
